Clinical Pilates

Physiotheraphy-led Pilates is a form of exercise that can be tailored to meet individual therapy needs. We offer this service in small, friendly groups, where each individual can be attended to as needed. Pilates aims to strengthen and engage the core muscles through controlled movements that simultaneously help to improve mobility, posture, tone, balance, and both physical and emotional wellbeing. Its benefits can be enjoyed by a wide range of individuals, independently of age and fitness abilities.

When to see us

When deciding whether you should see a physiotherapist, consider the following questions:
  • Does your child require physiotherapy to compliment their current NHS treatment?
  • Is your child awaiting a physiotherapy appointment, but you would like them to be seen straight away?
  • Is your baby/child not meeting their developmental milestones, such as rolling, sitting or walking?
  • Have you got concerns about your baby/child’s development?
  • Has your child got an injury or medical condition that may require physiotherapy?
  • Are you looking for Intensive Physiotherapy sessions for your child?
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions or you would like to discuss in detail any problems or concerns that you have about your child and you think we can help please contact us.

How it works...

Assessment

Once you have contacted us about your child, we will ask you to book a complimentary phone call with one of our physiotherapists, who will help you decide whether your child would benefit from a physiotherapy assessment. During the phone call, you’ll be able to express any concerns you may have about your child’s development. It would also be helpful for you to complete this parent questionnaire, to provide our physiotherapists with the information they need to advise you on whether or not your child would benefit from children’s physiotherapy.

Treatment

The needs of children and young adults can be very different to those of adults, which is why working with a specialised children’s physiotherapist can be essential to meeting their needs. Our physiotherapists understand children’s development, conditions, safety, and the need to communicate and work with families, which enables them to provide effective treatment for their child. Child Physiotherapy sessions usually take place at our fully-equipped clinic in Penley, Wexham. However, home, school, and nursery visits are also available if required.
